Left Landing Gear Assembly
The cable reaction tube or sheath was placed behind the gear leg. This reduces drag, and also protects the tubing from abuse during grass field landings. To hold the tubing to the landing gear, small hangers were made from aluminum house flashing. They were glued to the gear leg with clear silicone adhesive. Tabs were bent over the aluminum tubing to hold it in alignment with the back of the gear leg. And then plastic wire ties were put around the whole works. The fold tabs prevent the wire ties from sliding down the tapered gear leg.

Left Landing Gear Assembly - Update
Looking at the wheel from the front. The reaction plate was rotated so that the band hangs down from the top. This increases the drag a little, but has the advantage that the band hangs down and becomes self aligning. Also the with the reaction plate in this position, it is much easier to inspect brake condition.
