I discovered that the powder coated cage was abrading the fuel tank. To protect the tank I purchased some felt weather proofing from a local hardware store. Cut it to length, sprayed one side with self stick adhesive and placed the strips over the chaffed areas. Additional felt strips were bonded to the aluminum tray.
