MZ 34 Exhaust Mods

A second "C" pipe was purchased. It was used to obtain the elbow required to reach the muffler. The muffler to pipe connectors were removed from the original pipe and a snow mobile engine exhaust system coupler added to connect the original to new pipe. This change increased exhaust flow path length by nine inches.

To support the muffler, a tab was welded to the rear that attaches to the upper "V" mount truss bolt. To support the front, two legs were welded to the muffler.

To prevent exposing the exhaust to flight positive dynamic pressure and to direct exhaust noise to the rear, a flow reversal was constructed from 1.5 inch OD sink drain trap. High temperature RTV provides a seal between the pipe and the stingers.

To prevent oil and water vapor condensate build up in the muffler and the possibility of tail surface spatter, a drain nipple was threaded into the bottom rear of the muffler. A drain tube will be installed so that any liquid will exit below the tail boom tube.
