Firefly Slide Show

Cape Girardeau, Missouri - Air Show - July 13, 2003
Encouraging future aviators on experimental row. The cooler by my right leg and the left wheel contains a sandwich and six sodas to get me through the day. It travels in the luggage compartment. I was getting ready to refuel. The fuel transfer pump is coiled up on my left knee. It rides on top the the gas tank and bungee cords hold it in place.

Getting ready to mix oil and gasoline in a slosh bottle. The camping stool I am sitting on folds and rides on top of the gas tank. The oil and slosh bottles ride in the luggage compartment. My wife gophered in about three gallons of gas for me.

Looking on down part of experimental row.

Looking the other way along experimental row and part of war bird park.

Totally a fun day. I had a head wind both ways. The Victor 1+ has enough hours on it so that I am starting to run it harder at cruise. It took 61 minutes to Cape from Perryville with the engine turning at 5,000 rpm with a 2.1 gph burn rate. On the way back to Perryville it took 66 minutes with the engine turning 5,100 rpm with a 2.0 gph burn rate.
