Control Function Routing
Six control cables/fish lines feed up the back of the left cabane through small aluminum guide tubes and exit at the lower wing surface level. The black cable contains the EGT, electrical power and water temperature sensor leads. I ran these high so that there would be no obstructions when one wants to fill the gas tank or get into the luggage compartments. To save weight, the electrical ground passes through the steel cage. Blocking diodes prevent battery power from flowing to the cockpit. When the engine is running, the battery recharges and cockpit power is available for the temperature gauge, gps, and radio.

Looking forward and upward from the rear and under the left wing root, one can see all the cables/fish lines pass uncovered back to lower area of the left front engine mount bolt. To remove slack in the fish lines to the starter and mag kill switches, small model airplane turn buckles were used. Safety wire was run through the center and the clevises to maintain position. The fish line knots were safetied with a drop of acrylic adhesive. Steel cable slack was removed by retapping aluminum turn buckles to hold bicycle cable housing adjusters. The radiator shutter needs no slack adjustment.

Looking forward and downward from the rear and over the left wing root, one can see the cables/fish lines and protective tubes pass to their respective control areas. Short pieces of slit Tygon tubing and wire ties keep the aluminum guide tubes in position and prevent chaffing.
