Brake Reaction Plate Assembly

This side slips over the axle toward the fuselage. The cotter keys hold a floating piece that will retain the band. It floats so that as the band wears a maximum wrap angle is maintained.

The split collar is tightened to the axle to prevent the reaction plate assembly from rotating. The floating piece can be seen with two upward ends. Holes are drilled through these ends so that the cable sheath can pass through. The band will pass below.

Another view to show the holes that the brake cable and cable sheath will pass through.
