Top Strobe Light Power Supply & Voltage Regulator
This is a strobe light system designed for a school bus stop sign. The voltage regulator is pop riveted to hose clamps. The power unit is hard wired directly to the voltage regulator output so that when the engine is running the strobes are working. They are set on high intensity, and they can be seen several miles away. The bulbs fire alternately in bursts of two flashes each. By placing the bulbs on the top and the bottom, they do not interfere with the pilots vision and at the same time cover more or overlap more of the critical viewing area than do wing tip mounted strobes. Also one saves weight over a wing tip installation.
