Fuel Line Squeeze Bulb Safety

When replacing engines, the original FireFly squeeze bulb dried out and became very stiff. I purchased a NAPA replacement bulb. I noticed it was much more flaccid than the original. On an early MZ 34 start up, something obstructed the fuel intake and the new squeeze bulb collapsed shutting off the fuel to the engine. I was surprised by this and happy that it happened on the ground. To keep this problem from re-occurring, I made an insert so the bulb could not collapse and shut off the fuel. This seemed to be an easier, simpler, and lighter than the double "Tee" than the pinch the bypass tube solution.
