Carburetor To Air Filter Adapter Modification

To provide a better seal, a gasket was cut to be placed in between the carburetor inlet and the air filter adapter. The inner adapter bore was found to be conical. An aluminum house flashing truncated cone was cut to be inserted into the bore.

The cone was rolled into shape and inserted into the bore. It was permanently attached with JB Weld. The smaller cone end faces the engine, so if it should be come unattached, aluminum insert can only slide out into the filter. It cannot be drawn into the engine.

The adapter was mounted to the carburetor and the excess gasket material was cut away. Then high temperature RTV was used fill in the screw slots and electrician tape was used to form the outer OD.
