My nephew, Jeff Hart, took these photos of my annual fly by. There were thunder storms in the area, so this was an in between showers and I made a fifteen minute dash to and from the airport. I was flying about 200 feet above the ground. I like these because they are the first photos that could be viewed in detail of the FireFly in flight. The sun was overhead so some details were obscured by shadow, but I was able to use an imaging program to pull additional detail out of the shadow.
One can see the VG's on the lower surface of the horizontal stabilizer, and the in-flight position of the control surfaces. It looks like my soft gap seal is too soft and pooches up too high. Flight speed was between 50 and 55 mph.
If you wish to see greater detail, click on the image and it will call up the full blown photo. To get back to this page you will have to use your browser's BACK button. These large images are 121KB to 205KB in size.
Also, one can see the streamlining that was placed on the struts, aileron push/pull rods, and the trailing edges of the ailerons, elevators and rudder. The last two views show the Victor 1+ at work.
