Propeller Erosion
The above photo shows the erosion present after 82 propeller hours during which it experienced 266 takeoff and landings and approximately 133 taxies in and out to the hangar.
At the airport, our neighbor across the field periodically uses a sweeper/vacuum on their taxiways and the main runway to prevent debris from being pulled into jet engines. But the FBO does not have equipment to take care of the other taxiways, so sand and eroded concrete builds up on the taxiway surface. I have a long taxi out and back from the hangar on concrete and asphalt. The outer third of the propeller blade really takes a beating from debris thrown up by the tires into the air in front of the propeller.
