A Tail Wheel Dolly
At first I shared hangar space with a friend, and I had to fold the wings to get the FireFly in and out of the hangar while passing his plane. The folded FireFly is difficult to move with out a tail wheel dolly.
The dolly is made from two by four material, some bolts, a lazy susan bearing, and an axle and wheel set, and a handle from a rusted through lawn fertilizer spreader. A cross two by four is used to support the weight on the small axle shaft. The rest is quite simple.
If I had it to do over again, I would change the position of the slot and the lazy susan bearing center an inch toward the handle or an inch in front of the dolly wheel axle. I placed the center of the lazy susan bearing over the dolly axle and also just below the tail wheel axle. This works ok if no one else is moving your plane around. That is because if you rock the "Tee" handle down the load over the axle moves toward the handle and it is stable.
I place the tail wheel in the dolly by picking up on the fuselage tube just a head of the tail feathers, pulling the plane back and lowering the tailwheel into the dolly slots. Then I fold and unfold.
